The Histor’s Eye 1989-2002 Kids TV Quiz

Posted: December 18, 2013 in Television

Remember the 1990s? They were good, weren’t they? Well, maybe not. But for children’s television, it was quite a good period. The standard definitely improved and some memorable characters appeared. After watching a few quizzes on YouTube, I decided to go through them to revisit some of my favourites, in particular the intros. This has led me here – to making my own quizzes mostly based around intros.

There are four quizzes in total, each with 25 shows – each quiz takes less than five minutes, averaging out at roughly eleven seconds per show.

All 100 shows featured were being made in the period 1989-2002 – some started well before and continued or ended during this period, with the earliest one to end finishing in 1989, while the latest ones to start appeared in 2002. The vast majority were around in the 1990s, and even the ones that finished were repeated well into the decade or beyond. I can remember virtually all of them being on TV, though there are a couple of exceptions. This criteria excludes shows made earlier that were repeated – so if the only shows you watched were Wacky Races, The Flintstones and He-Man, it’s probably not worth listening.

There are other quizzes around, but I’ve tried hard to find some original shows that weren’t covered by them. Some will be familiar, while others may be quite obscure. There’s a heavy emphasis on British shows but there are also shows from the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan and France.

I doubt I’ll be making any more on this period as I think I’ve pretty much exhausted all the shows possible (with a few exceptions, though not enough to make another). There’s no prize for getting the most right but feel free to submit your guesses – I’m not going to post the answers for at least a few weeks

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
All 4 parts in one go

Good luck.
